Moreover, we also observed that higher methylation levels or lower gene expression levels of ECHDC1 were associated with reduced breast cancer‐specific survival probability in breast cancer patients (P = 0.007, log‐rank test: Fig 5B), irrespective of their ER status (Appendix Fig S13), corroborating its putative tumor suppressive role. This evidence concerns the gene ECHDC1 and breast carcinoma.
