Previous studies have reported that ANGPTL2 plays an essential role in insulin resistance and adipose inflammation by acting on endothelial cells and monocytes/macrophages via integrin signaling.[13, 15, 16, 53] ANGPTL2 also appears to promote obesity since ANGPTL2 KO mice fail to develop HFD‐induced obesity; however, it remains unclear how ANGPTL2 links adipose inflammation to obesity and whether ANGPTL2 acts directly on adipocytes given that integrin is expressed at low levels in these cells. This evidence concerns the gene ANGPTL2 and inflammation.
