ATF5 and cancer: In comparison to single-omic analysis, the STATegra framework identifies additional genes already known to be associated with GBM such as CAST, ATF5, GANAB [glycoprotein associated with GBM cancer stem cells (Dai et al., 2011)], ICAM [overexpressed in bevacizumab-resistant GBM (Piao et al., 2017)], CORO1A [upregulated in GBM (Berezovsky et al., 2014)], LYN [in vitro association of enhanced survival of GBM cells (Liu et al., 2013)], MET (proto-oncogene) and STAT5 [enhances GBM cells migration, survival (Roos et al., 2018), and proliferation (Feng and Cao, 2014)], among others.
