Considering that CMV found to be present in a majority of tumor cells in several forms such as brain tumors, breast, colon, prostate, ovarian cancer as well as in metastases (63–67), it is reasonable to propose that CMV miRNAs are involved in cancer progression as well as IFN treatment, by which further investigation to characterize the role of IFN in tumor invasion is required. The gene discussed is IFNA1; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
