The present cross-sectional study showed significant associations between trunk-to-peripheral fat ratio and cardiometabolic variables (LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglyceride, hemoglobin A1c, fasting serum insulin, fasting plasma glucose, and HOMA-IR) in elderly Japanese men who did not use hypertension, dyslipidemia, or diabetes medication. This evidence concerns the gene INS and hypertensive disorder.
