Some studies have shown that, in patients with Crohn’s disease, intestinal macrophages can induce the proliferation of naïve CD4+ T cells and the expression of integrin β-7 and CCR9, while other works deem mature macrophages from patients with ulcerative colitis unable to inhibit the proliferation of T cells (Barman et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and Crohn disease.
