Consistently, herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection and SETD2 mutation in clear cell renal cell carcinoma, which disrupt transcriptional termination, both generate extended host gene transcripts between adjacent genes that are often spliced between normally separate TUs (Grosso et al., 2015; Rutkowski et al., 2015). The gene discussed is SETD2; the disease is clear cell renal carcinoma.
