MAPT and Alzheimer disease: The inhibition of Wnt/β-catenin pathway is reported to promote massive accumulation of Aβ and Tau hyper-phosphorylation, and Aβ in turn inhibits the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, eventually resulting in neurofibrillary tangles in AD patients and worsening the course of AD (Jia et al., 2019).
