MASP1 and cerebrovascular disorder: The LP probably plays a more important role than other complement pathways in cerebrovascular disease, possibly related to the role of MASP-1 in activating the coagulation cascade, leading to the formation of clots and/or recruiting leucocytes through pro-inflammatory factors, resulting in thrombosis and consequent tissue ischemia (Orsini et al., 2014; Dobó et al., 2018) (Figure 5).
