Even so, usage of an anti-MASP-2 human monoclonal antibody (Narsoplimab) on six Italian patients with COVID-19 acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) was highly effective, without any measurable colateral effect, achieving fast and sustained reduction of circulating endothelial cells (a marker of vascular damage) and concomitant reduction of serum IL-6, IL-8, C-reactive protein (CRP) and LDH (Rambaldi et al., 2020). Here, MASP2 is linked to acute respiratory distress syndrome.
