Bai S’s study had also proven that EGFL6 promotes the asymmetric division of cancer stem-like cells in ovarian cancer [29], consistent with this research’s result that EGFL6 could keep the cell stemness by regulating the expression of cancer stem cell associated genes, POU5F1, NANOG, and LIN28 (Fig. 4d, e).
