After the exposure to 1 μM GSK1070916 for 24 h, the primary AML cell foci of all four patients showed formation of both large and small syncytia (up to 28 nuclei, Fig. 5b and d) with signs of extensive apoptosis in some syncytia (Fig. 5j and l), while other syncytia contained numerous nuclei that were positive for Ki67 (Fig. 5f, note that the histology in two patients is shown. This evidence concerns the gene MKI67 and acute myeloid leukemia.
