Harada et al. reported in a single AD case, which was assessed in vivo with THK5351 PET imaging and post-mortem with histopathology, that the THK5351 binding was associated with both the loads of tau pathology and monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) enzyme; off-target binding to MAO-B has been identified by translational studies for several of the developed tau PET ligands [65]. The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
