HLA class II proteins play a pivotal role in presenting foreign antigens to immune cells responsible for clearance of virus‐infected cells and tumour cells.33 We detected HLA-DQB1 expression in both tumour and stromal cells, which indicates that both tumour and infiltrating non-tumour cells may act as antigen presenters in cervical cancer. The gene discussed is HLA-DQB1; the disease is cervical cancer.
