With the use of an additive genetic model, variation in the MTNR1B gene rs10830963 was found to be positively correlated with the risk of developing MI over 6.8 years of follow-up, suggesting that rs10830963 polymorphism may be a useful genetic marker for the development of MI in patients with T2DM (52). This evidence concerns the gene MTNR1B and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
