Using the MWM test, we found that the over-expression of GLUT4 significantly ameliorated the cognitive deficits induced by Pb exposure, evidenced by a decrease in the escape latency (Day 1: p = 0.0024, p = 0.0281; Day 2: p = 0.0024, p = 0.0214; Day 3: p = 0.0013, p = 0.0105; Day 4: p = 0.0011, p = 0.0102; Day 5: p = 0.0019, p = 0.0103; vs. AAV-Pb) (Figures 7E,F) and a longer period of time spent in the target quadrant (p = 0.005, p = 0.0428) (Figures 7G,H). The gene discussed is SLC2A4; the disease is Cognitive impairment.
