Although no genetic disorders have been identified with mutations in RECQL1, germline mutations in RECQL1 are reported to be linked with an increased risk of breast cancer, suggesting that RECQL1 is a breast cancer susceptibility gene (Cybulski et al., 2015; Kwong et al., 2016; Sun J. et al., 2017; Sun et al., 2015; Tervasmaki et al., 2018).
