CDK1, one member of CDK family, is essential for mitosis, and inhibition of CDK1 has been shown to promote apoptosis in lymphomas and liver tumors in mice expressing MYC: in MYC-expressing HB transgenic mouse models, administration of a CDK1 inhibitor resulted in reduced tumor growth as well as extended survival (Goga et al., 2007).
