NLRP3 and myocardial infarction: Given the effect of BTK inhibition on B cell development and function, the applicability of targeting NLRP3 via current BTK inhibitors at this stage appears limited to and most suitable for acute settings like myocardial infarction, stroke or COVID-19 rather than chronic NLRP3-mediated diseases such as Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.
