Studies have shown that high levels of IL-6, IL-8, IP-10 and MIP-3α, were found to correlate with EBV DNA load in advanced NPC patients, while patients with the elevated levels of IL-8, VEGF, MIP-3α, in addition to high EBV DNA loads, had a worse prognosis (35, 41–43). The gene discussed is CXCL10; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
