Knocking down METTL7B can significantly reduce ccRCC cell proliferation both in vivo and in vitro. The oncogenic role of METTL7B is achieved by inhibiting the expression of genes involved in the regulation of cell-cycle (such as CDK1, CCND1, and CCNB1) and invasion (E-cadherin, N-cadherin, Vimentin, and Slug). The gene discussed is VIM; the disease is nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
