Knocking out of the YAP gene in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cell lines, HepG2, and MHCC97L cells, cultured in the stiff ECM, resulted in downregulation of glycolytic enzymes HK2 and LDHA, which subsequently reduced the migration capacity of cancer cells (25). This evidence concerns the gene HK2 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
