It was found that the expression of 16 of these 45 genes was clearly different between patients with and without hepatic steatosis, including eight spliceosome components (RNU6ATAC, RNU6, SF3B1, RNU2, RNU4ATAC, RBM22, U2AF1, U2AF2) and eight splicing factors (PTBP1, SRRM1, SND1, KHDRSB1, SRSF2, SRSF10, ESRP2, TIA1). In patients with steatosis the expression of RNU6ATAC, RNU6, SF3B1, RNU2, RNU4ATAC, TIA1 was downregulated, but the expression of the other 10 genes was elevated significantly. Here, TIA1 is linked to fatty liver disease.
