The regulated pathways of autophagy during cerebral ischemia affected by the above factors have been studied widely, which overlap with inflammation and oxidative stress and mainly involve mTOR signaling pathway (classic type I PI3K/Akt-mTOR and AMPK-mTOR pathway) (Castets et al., 2019), MAPK signaling pathway (Xue et al., 2016), hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF-1α) signaling pathway, p53 pathway, peroxisome proliferators-activated receptors (PPAR-γ) pathway, and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) pathway (Sun et al., 2018; Hou et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene MTOR and brain ischemia.
