Two proteins with typical CX9C cysteine motifs called coiled-coil-helix-coiled-coil-helix domain containing protein 2 (CHCHD2) and 10 are linked to several neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease (PD), AS, ALS and frontotemporal lobe dementia (FTD) [108,109,123,124]. The gene discussed is CHCHD2; the disease is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
