The newest CFTR modulator is elexacaftor/tezacaftor/IVA (Trikafta; Middleton et al., 2019) It was recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration and by the European Medicine Agency for the treatment of CF in patients 12 years of age or older homozygous, or compound heterozygous for the Phe508del and a minimal‐function CFTR mutation. Here, CFTR is linked to cystic fibrosis.
