MEDICA treatment is shown here to result in abrogating viability and inducing growth arrest and apoptosis of a variety of MM cells, including IL-6-constitutive (U266) and K-Ras-mutated (RPMI8226) MM cell lines, in the absence or presence of co-cultured BMSC, pointing to its anti-tumor effect even with stromal support. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and neoplasm.
