These are consistent with a previous report that the plasma ptau181 is more strongly associated with both Aβ and tau PET than plasma tau [60], and can differentiate AD from non-AD pathologies with high accuracy (AUC 97.4, 95% CI 94.1%–100%) eight years before death [87], collectively highlighting the potential of ptau181 as a biomarker for AD pathology.
