C1QBP and breast carcinoma: We have previously reported high levels of C1QBP in breast cancer tissues compared to those in normal breast tissues (Chen et al., 2009); C1QBP overexpression was correlated with enhanced tumor metastasis to the lymph nodes of TNBC patients, which can serve as an independent prognostic indicator (Wang et al., 2015); silencing C1QBP suppresses the ability of TNBC cells to metastasize and inhibits their proliferation both in vitro and in vivo, suggesting that C1QBP promotes the progression of cancer in patients with TNBC (Niu et al., 2015).
