APOB and familial hypercholesterolemia: Isolated hypercholesterolemia and isolated low LDL were seen in only 2.5% and 23.6% of the patients respectively, but studies have shown that apparently normal cholesterol level may mask the qualitative alteration in composite lipoprotein particles such as intermediate-density lipoprotein (IDL), small LDL and ApoB which are not routinely measured in clinical practice but which are nonetheless better predictors of risk of ASCVD [47].
