Perra et al. (2018) reported that CHAC1 is highly expressed in patients with excessive respiratory tract inflammation caused by cystic fibrosis, and they speculated that CHAC1 is involved in the regulation of bronchial inflammation. In this study, the expression of CHAC1 in the jejunum and colon of piglets in the diarrhea group was higher than that in piglets in the healthy and FMT groups, which indicates that piglets in the diarrhea group had severe intestinal inflammation and up-regulated CHAC1 expression. Here, CHAC1 is linked to inflammation.
