Since α2δ1 has been reported previously to cause calcium influx into cells by serving as a subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channel13,28,29, we measured the intracellular Ca2+ levels ([Ca2+]i) in NSCLC cell lines by flow cytometry to gain insight into the mechanism(s) by which α2δ1 upregulates NOTCH3 and subsequently promotes the properties of α2δ1+ TICs. This evidence concerns the gene NOTCH3 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
