Although the results of this study supported the contention that benralizumab was shown to be effective in patients with heightened type 2 inflammatory parameters such as eosinophils, IgE, and FeNO at baseline, our findings also indicated the importance of defining detailed phenotypes of severe eosinophilic asthma, including relative increase in total IgE and/or FeNO to blood eosinophils or the co-existence of smoking or obesity. The gene discussed is IGHE; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
