GCG and diabetes mellitus: Several medications commonly prescribed for the treatment of diabetes [(e.g., sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP1) analogs, dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitors (DPP4i)] and of comorbidities (e.g., statins and renin-angiotensin modulating antihypertensives) should be discontinued before conception or replaced as soon as pregnancy is confirmed (6) due to potential harm or unknown effects on the foetus.
