A single study on renal fibrosis confirmed Sirtuin-1 as a target of miR-133b in HK2 cells and showed that the inhibition of miR-133b expression resulted in the attenuation of TGF-β1-induced EMT and renal fibrosis through the upregulation of Sirtuin-1 expression [24]. This evidence concerns the gene SIRT1 and renal fibrosis.
