A study conducted on DENV strains isolated in Cambodia in 2007 found that a DENV strain isolated from a patient experiencing Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS) differed from DENV strains isolated from patients experiencing Dengue Fever (DF) or Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) by six amino acids, with mutations located in the pre-membrane gene, the envelope gene, and the non-structural (NS) 1, NS3 and NS5 genes [28]. The gene discussed is KRAS; the disease is dengue disease.
