The subgroup analysis through the types of cancer showed the significant association that the IL-6 rs1800796 (-572G/C) performed a protective role in prostate cancer for four genetic models [C vs. G: OR = 0.74, 95% CI = 0.64–0.85, p-value = 0.0000; CC vs. GG: OR = 0.52, 95% CI = 0.37–0.72, p-value = 0.0001; CC vs. CG + GG: OR = 0.67, 95% CI = 0.53–0.84, p-value = 0.0005; CC + CG vs. GG: OR = 0.74, 95% CI = 0.61–0.90, p-value = 0.0025]. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and prostate carcinoma.
