IL6 and cancer: The finding of our analysis suggested that the IL-6 rs1800797 (-597G/A) polymorphism were not significantly associated with overall cancer risk under genetic models [A vs. G: OR = 0.99, 95% CI = 0.94–1.04, p-value = 0.7169; AA vs.GG: OR = 0.96, 95% CI = 0.85–1.08, p-value = 0.5152; AA + AG vs. GG: OR = 1.00, 95% CI = 0.93–1.08, p-value = 0.9289; AA vs. AG + GG: OR = 0.97, 95% CI = 0.87–1.07, p-value = 0.5064; AG vs. AA + GG: OR = 0.98, 95% CI = 0.91–1.05, p-value = 0.5025] (Table 4 and S1K–S1O Fig in S1 File).
