In one study increased disease-free survival was directly associated with higher proportions of resting and activated CD4+ memory T cells in breast cancer, implying an anti-tumor role of CD4+ memory T cells (55).In gene set enrichment analysis there were higher proportions of memory B cells, activated natural killer cells, CD8+ T cells, follicular helper T cells, and regulatory T cells in the high-risk group, and comparatively larger fractions of naive B cells, resting natural killer cells, CD4+ resting memory T cells, and plasma cells in the low-risk group. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and breast cancer.
