ERBB2 and carcinoma: An ANC was performed in one patient (Patient A) who had three macro metastases in her SNB. No invasive disease was found in her breast despite re-examination of her breast specimen by a further two consultant histopathologists. Her sentinel nodes demonstrated metastatic high-grade carcinoma and expression of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2), therefore, she was commenced on chemotherapy and Herceptin. She underwent an ANC following her adjuvant treatment which did not demonstrate any further involved nodes.
