Further, we demonstrate that in humans, expression of CCR6 on a putative B-1 cell population (24) was significantly reduced in patients with a high degree of coronary artery disease (CAD) underscoring the potential clinical relevance of our findings and suggesting that B-1 cell-specific augmentation of CCR6 expression may be a potential therapeutic approach. The gene discussed is CCR6; the disease is coronary artery disorder.
