The reasons why IL-23 neutralization proved highly beneficial in psoriasis but without efficacy (at least in initial trials) in Ankylosing Spondylitis, whereas IL-17 neutralization proved therapeutic in Psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing Spondylitis but not Crohn's disease have been discussed by Siebert and colleagues (73). The gene discussed is IL17A; the disease is ankylosing spondylitis.
