Although mono-colonization with both EcN-Ctrl and EcN-Chim reduced allergy in poly-sensitized mice, only the mono-colonization with EcN-Ctrl triggered the increased expression of IL-10 (P < 0.01), Foxp3 (P < 0.001), and IFNγ (P < 0.0001) mRNA in the lung as compared to GF poly-sensitized control (Figures 4A–C, E, F). This evidence concerns the gene FOXP3 and allergic disease.
