Li et al. 1997 reported that the EGFR expression level in the epithelial lining of the three most common types of odontogenic cysts (odontogenic keratocysts, dentigerous cysts and RC), follicular and unicystic ameloblastomas and PG seems to relate to the presence of inflammation in the adjacent connective tissue instead of epithelial cell proliferation [24]. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is odontogenic cyst.
