Since, as previously noted, the maturation and activity of ADAM10 and ADAM17 are regulated by distinct classes of membrane proteins (Tspan C8 and iRhoms, respectively), these regulatory binding partners of ADAM10 and ADAM17 may emerge—in addition to the ADAMs they bind to—as attractive targets in the treatment of T-ALL. This evidence concerns the gene ADAM17 and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
