The first study, performed in 170 patients with HCC (training group 125, test group 45) using T1-weighted imaging and T2-weighted imaging with clinical factors (age, sex, tumor size, alpha fetoprotein (AFP) level, history of hepatitis B, hepatocirrhosis, portal vein tumor thrombosis, portal hypertension and pseudocapsule), reported an AUC of 0.800 for the prediction of the histological grading of HCC presented by Edmondson grades [25].
