IL6 and rheumatoid arthritis: Although we found no consistent difference in clinical response in seropositive vs. seronegative RA, we noticed a significant impact on ACPA serum concentration after six months, which is an improvement that parallels the decrease in periodontal inflammation, suggesting a role of IL-6 in both systemic and local inflammation (synovial and periodontal) and the potential implications via citrullination.
