Matrix metalloproteinase 14 (MMP14), which through its ECM-degrading effect promotes cancer cell migration [58], was expressed at significantly different levels by cancer cells in the four patterns: highest in FP (58%), followed by CP (20%) and PP (13%), and TP (2%) (p ≤ 0.037), respectively (Figure 3 and Figure 4).
