For a long time, the only genes known to be mutated or deregulated in Wilms tumors were WT1, IGF2, and genes linked to canonical WNT signaling (CTNNB1, WTX/AMER1), but recent large-scale sequencing projects have greatly extended the number of genes linked to Wilms tumorigenesis. Here, CTNNB1 is linked to Wilms tumor.
