Surprisingly, on the other hand, some reports also suggest that TOX actually inhibits DNA repair by directly binding to KU70/80 and suppressing nonhomologous end joining (NHEJ) repair in T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), and when TOX was stably knocked down, it elevated NHEJ repair during DNA double-stranded breaks (DSB).
