Forty-two percent of patients had hormone receptor-positive tumors (estrogen -ER- and/or progesterone receptor -PR- positivity of >1%), 42% overexpressed HER-2 (+3 result by immunohistochemistry or +2 by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridation ISH/FISH positive) and 34% were classified as triple-negative breast cancer (ER, PR and HER-2 negative). The gene discussed is PGR; the disease is triple-negative breast carcinoma.
