DHODH and acute promyelocytic leukemia: In spite of the underlying mechanisms, DHODH inhibition is an extremely interesting strategy, as (i) it represents a new pathway to treat AML; (ii) differentiation induction has yielded incredible results in APL, probably reducing the relapse rate by working on leukemic stem cells [13], and (iii) the toxicity seems to be limited, potentially allowing DHODH inhibitors to be combined with other drugs.
